More Information:

  • Live in natural burrows or steal them from aardvarks.

  • When running from a predator, all but the last will go into the burrow head first. The last one goes in butt first so his tusks are pointing out.

  • Warthogs often kneel on their front knees to eat as they have short necks but relatively long legs! They even have pads to help with this.

  • May share burrows with hyenas

  • Live in natural burrows or steal them from aardvarks

  • Generalists: will eat grass, roots, berries, dead animals

  • Females and piglets live in groups up to 40, males tend to be less social

  • Sexually dimorphic - males have larger wards on their face
