Announcement about Flower posted on social media (Facebook) :
May 8th: It is with broken hearts that we share Flower, the Nigerian dwarf goat, passed away earlier this week due to complications from sepsis.
Flower received around the clock care from his keepers and our veterinarian staff at the Animal Care Center. They did everything they could to treat him for his ailments. Unfortunately, despite the excellent care Flower received, he declined further on Monday. As he left this world, he was surrounded by his keepers who showed him so much love.
From the moment Flower entered this world, he was a favorite amongst his keepers, Zoo staff, volunteers and guests. "Flower was the sweetest little boy who loved following his keepers while they cleaned his yard and chewing on their shoelaces. He loved bouncing around the yard while playing with his brother and especially cuddles with his mom! He was a little fighter and will be greatly missed by his keepers!" - Amber, Keeper II - Equine
Thank you everyone who sent well wishes to Flower as he fought a strong fight. And thank you, for your condolences as we, as a community, grieve the loss of this strong-willed kid.

Fun Fact: The goat hair from brushing is gathered up and used for enrichment in predator exhibits
