  • Gabana has healed wing fracture causing the wing to stick out abnormally Rehabilitated – limited flight capabilities

  • April 2025 - we have received a new barn owl from Lee Richardson Zoo in Kansas to be a companion to Gabana

More Information:

  • Impressive hearing (satellite-dish-shaped faces) and vision

  • Nest in caves,  hollow trees, abandoned barns and buildings, cemetaries

  • Found everywhere except the poles

  • Often mate for life

  • Fly low over open habitats listening for prey

  • Also known as Ghost Owls - many people think that some ghost stories may be attributable to barn owls because of white face, white chest, and blood curdling scream
