Identifying Features:

More Information:

  • Crepuscular

  • Rely on prairie dog burrows

  • Lines burrow with another animal's scat - unsure why; might be to mask scent or attract insects

  • Mimics rattlesnake sound

  • Weak digestive system - owl pellets

  • Look up! & warn guests as needed : )

  • Owl pellets may be found on the ground, especially near door.  **Must wear gloves to touch pellets.
