  • Native to Mexico and Central America

  • Found in desert scrub and forest

  • 10-39 inches long

  • Several species introduced into U.S. in Arizona, Texas, Florida and perhaps other places

  • Introduced into Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum in the 1970's. Reproducing but have not expanded beyond Museum grounds. They are a cross between the San Esteban spiny-tailed iguana and Sonoral spiny-tailed iguana.
