History:
Stripe and Lola (dec) are parents to 2 sets of twins: Marimonda & Tunda (10/16/17) and Walnut & Hazelnut (6/1/18).
Tunda moved to Idaho Falls Zoo in 2020.
Walnut & Hazelnut are deceased.

The cotton-top tamarin is one of three Amazonian species of tamarin living in northwestern Columbia.
Males and females are about the same size, with an average height of 9” and an average weight (in managed care) of 565g.
Wild tamarins weight significantly less, averaging about 450g.
Live in tropical forests, open woodlands, and secondary growth forests
Arboreal
Eat insects, sap, fruit, and nectar
One of most endangered primates; IUCN: Critically Endangered
Threatened by habitat loss, pet trade

Generally give birth to twins (triplets and singletons do occur)
Young carried on back of parents
